Meet John

Background:

John Stewart is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in the sports and entertainment industry. With a passion for making a positive impact, he has dedicated over a decade to working directly with non-profit organizations. Currently, Stewart wears multiple hats: he is the owner of a successful marketing agency, serves as the CEO and Executive Producer for a television production company, and holds the position of Executive Director for a national non-profit organization.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Stewart is a committed environmentalist, lifelong outdoorsman and horseman. He has actively participated in numerous global environmental campaigns, including Live Earth, a groundbreaking event that attracted over two billion viewers and featured 150 musical acts performing on every continent. During his time in motorsports, Stewart played a pivotal role in the IndyCar Series becoming the first competitive racing series to utilize renewable fuel. Over the years, he has won numerous awards as a producer, marketer and volunteer.

Stewart is deeply involved in various church activities and youth-serving organizations. Together with his wife of 35 years (a former teacher), he resides on a 125-year-old hobby farm located in Wayne Township, just outside Noblesville and Fishers. Their farm is home to over 40 animals. The Stewarts have raised three children who attended schools in the HSE School District.

Why Is He Running?

"I am running for the school board because I believe that every child deserves an education tailored to their unique needs and aspirations. As a parent of three children who attended HSE schools, I understand firsthand the challenges and opportunities within our district.

Our family's journey through the education system has been both rewarding and challenging. Two of our children are on the autism spectrum, while our daughter has faced her own battles with anxiety and depression. Unfortunately, we felt that the school environment at HSE was not the best fit for her, and we made the decision to pull her out of HSE schools.

Through our experiences, I have come to realize that college is not the only pathway to success. Inspired by the transformative impact of Mike Rowe's work, our two sons found their calling in the skilled trades. One is now an automotive technician, while the other is a professional welder. I firmly believe that every high school student should have access to job shadowing opportunities and apprenticeships before graduation. Skilled trades and the military offer viable and rewarding career paths that should be accessible to all students.

As a school board member, I will be committed to increasing mental health awareness and ensuring that every student has access to the support and services they need. I believe in the importance of character development and experiential education. Schools should be about more than just grades and diplomas; they should help students discover their own purpose and calling in life.

I am passionate about creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive. With your support, I am dedicated to advocating for the needs of all students and ensuring that our schools prepare them for successful and fulfilling futures." - John Stewart
