From a business standpoint, John is a marketing executive and business owner who has had Profit and Loss responsibility for 30 years. He knows how to run a business.

From a passion perspective, John is a married man of 35 years (Suzanne) and father of 3, all of whom attended Hamilton Southeastern Schools. he knows the ins and outs of our school system.

His two boys are on the autism spectrum and his daughter had mental health challenges, making John and Suzanne's journey as parents in the school system also far from average. They asked questions of teachers. They pushed administrators to think differently. And over time, they developed a holistic sense of what our school system should be doing for all of our kids, not just graduating the best and brightest.

John and his family believe in our kid's mental health first and foremost. If they aren't safe and in a receptive state of mind, then it's just not possible to make HSE schools the launchpad it needs to be. Even for kids not going to college.

Now, if the truth be told, John was a very average student when he attended Carmel schools in the 80's. Some of his teachers weren't sure he should have graduated.

But John has been successful in every aspect of his professional and personal life since that time, marrying the love of his life, going to Oral Roberts University and then to Presidio Graduate School, growing businesses around the country and then returning to Indiana 20 years ago to the place that he knew was indeed the best place to live and raise a family in America. He and his family are avid 4Hers, both his sons are Eagle Scouts, and church for the Stewarts is beyond just a Sunday experience.
